It seems after the recent sale that QFs pricing at the low level is pretty competitive vs DJ..the Red-e-Deal lead in looks to have dropped to 150 one way.. my company has a BFOD policy and the day I need to go DJ now has only 1 flight cheaper than QF.....in fact the next 2 trips which I dreaded are now back with the red roo ..helps keep the tier credits ticking over away from the int trips where my boss sees the light and lets me travel J with QF;)

Good spot ...

I need to book 4 MEL/BNE returns over Christmas and that's an immediate $80 saving.

Hmmm ... How long can I hold out on this one as I sure there will be no sales for the period I need to travel.

I keep an eye on dates sales are offered and over Dec-Jan
rarely is there any sale pricing offered from about the end of the 2nd week in DEC (depending on when School break up) and about the end of the 2nd week in Jan which then run thru til the end of Mar (again depending on when Easter is).During that time regular leadin in prices seem to be the best options..good luck

Not sure what was behind this, but anyway

Luck won't come into it; need to travel up on the weekend prior to Christmas Day (a Tuesday) then back on Boxing day.

I am very sure there will be no sales for those dates. :-|

My only issue is availability of those $160 seats and how long I want Qantas to have my money before we fly.
