MEL to Adelaide on QF then international flight to SIN with SQ

They are not quite the only ones. But they caught me the other week! I looked up the law - it seems it's optional - up to the airport security.
The old CBR terminal had 2 checkpoints, one for QF, one for VA. The QF checkpoint made you take out umbrellas, the VA one didn't.
The new CBR just has the 1 domestic checkpoint. No need to remove them now.

How do you have a PNR with seperate tickets?? Pardon my ignorance.
PNR means Passenger Name Record (IIRC).

Airline Tickets are linked to a PNR.

Accommodation, rental car, transfers and other travel related bookings can also be linked to a PNR.

There can be multiple such linkages to the one PNR.

How do we link separate tickets to one PNR?? If we have a SQ and QF ticket.

AFAIK you can't. It has to be all arranged under the same PNR to start with. You can't later combine two separate flight bookings into a single PNR (to get the protections of missed connections etc).

OP probably has valid reason to do this, but ideally, I would have gone straight from MEL - SIN, and bypassed the Aust dom connection via ADL.
Mind you, ADL is a small airport, and if all goes well, the trip as planned/trip as done by OP (ideally) can work, but it can be tight if the incoming flight is late.
MEL first dep to ADL dep at 7.00am, arr ADL 7.50am, SQ dep ADL at 10.25am, so ideally, 2 hours transit time with plane hold baggage.
***EDIT: (I see why the OP would want to transit via ADL now, as the first SQ flight from MEL - SIN is at 1.50am, (!!!)).***
