Hi,

Quick question for anybody who has done it before - what is the realm of the fees and charges for booking Singapore airlines flights with Velocity points?

Looking at MEL - SIN in J for 80,000 points and xx_ dollars.

What is availability like on this redemption?

I'm maybe 1 or 2 credit card signups off having enough points for this (return for 2) but could nearly do the same thing with QF for 60k points and fly on Emirates.

But I've heard good things about SQ J class and have never flown that before

And another angle - would it better to save some points and go BNE - SIN on EY?

Cheers!

SQ doesn't provide its partners with any J seats between Australia and NZ until 14 days before the flight.

Regardless, this is very poor value for your VFF points.

EY BNE-SIN would be MUCH better value.

Yikes, didn't manage to read that anywhere. I assume then that the chance of getting a J seat using points on that route is almost nil.

What would you say in terms of EY BNE-SIN vs EK MEL-SIN?

I know you said AUS and NZ but assume you mean those as departure points as this route was to SIN.

I only ask as I'm looking at the same flight choices.
