Re: MEL Mid Week Yum Cha Event [21 May 2014]

Obviously midweek is too hard for most.

We are going to meet up with chchkiwi (FT) in the Sheraton foyer at about 1pm if anyone else is interested.

Still going to try and make it but may be after 1pm. Have you chosen a restaurant as yet?

BTW couldn't PM you as you are full.

Well unfortunately straitman was delayed so event was cancelled. However I was already on my way in when I found out so decided to have lunch in the CBD anyway. And what a bewdiful day weatherwise for a wander around the city? Being on my own I decided to forgo the yum cha and went to the RACV Club for lunch instead. Hit the jackpot! In the entrance foyer was a free craft beer tasting.

I think there is a beer festival on in Melb or something. After a chat about each beer and tasting over half a dozen or so I wandered off with a bellyful of beer to the smorgasboard lunch. The dessert display woulda kept JessicaTam busy I reckon :D

Eventually made my way back to the train station and work.

BTW I learned at the tasting that GABS is on this weekend Fri to Sun at the old Exhibition Buildings in Carlton for anyone who's interested.
Great Australian Beer Spectapular. Over 250 craft beers.
