[TD="class: arial, align: left"]Melbourne Airport is making travel easier this summer with the launch of two new initiatives, a new iPhone app for the technically savvy traveller and for a more personalised touch, an army of volunteers to help get you on your way.
Melbourne Airport’s Executive General Manager, Simon Gandy said “Our new iPhone app will help keep our passengers updated on flight information as they journey through our airport as well as provide valuable information to those welcoming or saying goodbye to family and friends.”
“The new official Melbourne Airport app provides users with real time flight information and maps of the terminal with walking times from different points. There’s also a taxi and car park calculator which will be familiar to everyone who uses the Melbourne Airport website.”

Except there doesn't appear to be any maps of the Qantas domestic terminal.

Flight time information might be handy though I am sure that if you already do check flight times on your phone you would be using a different app which would probably be better :)

Flight time information might be handy

What we be really handy is something that shows status of inbound aircraft that is operating flight you are departing from :p. Just so you don't have to find the status yourself - by noticing that the 11:20 arrival at the gate your 12:00 is departing from isn't arriving until 11:55, despite your departing flight still showing an estimated departure of 12:00

MEL is simple enough as is.

The only way they could make travel easier with this app is show a shortcut through Duty Free after passport control...

Sydney Airport have launched their iPhone App and the Map section excludes Qantas T3 domestic also. Very odd.

QF own T3, whereas the other terminals are owned by Macquarie Airports.

Why bother having it all (shakes the head) Sounds a typical Macquaire "I'm too important" approach. Some organisations are just plain dumb.
