Hi all, travelling F MEL-HKG soon and interested if anyone knows what the menu in the F lounge in MEL is like this month (does it change monthly?). Does anyone have a copy they could post? Would be v appreciated.

Also, given QF29 is a late night departure, does anyone know what the meal service is like? The full 8 course tasting menu they advertise online, or an abbreviated version thereof? If anyone has a May menu for this flight as well, would be great to have a look at what's in store...

(as you may tell, the food and drink is pretty important to me! :))

thanks.

Melbourne first lounge is quite nice, have a lovely sandwich in there last year but that was early morning, and I wasn't sure what the sandwich actually had in it, nice chutney spread or something?

I can tell you the club sandwich and salt and pepper squid is good. The menu doesn't seem to have changed since it opened although I don't look at it often.

Menu has not change much or at all in the past 6 months.
BUt allt he good favorites are there :) all very nice food. MEL/SYD QF Flounges are great :)

If you sit at the seats you will be given the small menu, if you sit at the restaurant you get the big menu, just ask for the full menu if your at a lounge chair and you will get it.
I am not sure about the 8 courses thing though i did not look really.

The Flounge experience in MEL or SYD is 5*. I wouldn't be concerned if there is something not on the menu that you want - just ask and they will make if it is in their capabilities...

I personally rate:

5 - Cheese platter (no stinky blue)
4 - Salt & Pepper squid
3 - Club sanga
2 - Minute steak

[Drum Roll]

1 - Eggs Benedict with Salmon

Mr!

:D

I do not believe QF29 MEL-HKG gets the tasting menu. Certainly did not last time I took the flight. Was still a full dinner service if you want, or some qicker, lighter options were available.

I chose to eat in the FLounge fairly early, then had the famous QF F Steak Sandwich on-board before trying to get some sleep.

Was there on Friday.

Salt and Pepper Squid is off the menu.

There were 3 light and 4 more substantial as well as two specials options. Sides were chips, steamed vegies, a salad and another I can't recall. Also several dessert options.

When the lounge first opened there was a snack menu with different options from the main menu; however these days the 'snack' menu is a subset of the main menu.

Both MEL and SYD currently have a "Chilli Salt Squid" option on the menu.
