MEL Emirates Lounge Access

We are traveling Mel-Akl in May in business, we are both Qantas FF Gold, I have been on both Qantas & Emirates websites for the terms & conditions for lounge access,
they give conflicting conditions for access so therefore my question. Can we guest 1 guest each into the Emirates International Lounge in Melbourne? Thanks in advance

Which airline are you travelling on?

If Emirates, definitely yes. If Qantas I think (but not certain) theoretically yes, but anecdotal evidence suggests EK lounge staff will politely suggest you try the QF lounge.

My mistake, should have mentioned in OP we are flying with Emirates EK406

In my OP I neglected to mention the guests we wish to guest into the lounge are not flying with us,(not flying at all). From memory I think I read somewhere that the guest/s must be flying on the same day on the same airline to be guested into the lounge, Is this the case?, We really don't want to turn up to the lounge at ~ 5:30-6am only to be told we cannot guest our friends into the lounge. Thanks in advance

Your friends cannot get air side unless they're actually flying overseas. (Rare cases like JQ flights excepted but not relevant in this situation).

As you've set out the situation your friend wont be allowed air side therefore lounge access is moot.
