Just wondering is it possible to wave an annual fee and rewards program just to keep the visa credit card?

With ANZ no, you will need to change to a product that doesnt have rewards.

yeah, I checked their options and unfortunately, they don't have any credit cards with $0 annual fee.
 
I am not sure what it is about ANZ these days, all of their products appear costly when compared to other main banks, you cant even get a transaction account for free (there are some ways to get it waived) straight up.
It seems ANZ are positioning itself to not deal with any riff-raff.
