The Post Office told me the other day that if you post these in the Yellow box they are never scanned. If you hand over at the P.O. Counter then they are. All news to me and they don’t publicise this rather important fact.
I put a lot of my customers orders in the post box and they all get scanned...

The guy behind the counter at my local needs some training in customer service. Won't return a friendly hello and often continues to talk to other people while 'serving' me .
Yep. The bar codes arent really recorded, just approx region location if you are lucky.
We use to have a PO Box near my office but Mr Grumpy PO Worker was such a displeasure to approach each morning (PO pickup opened at 7.30am/ring the buzzer for oversized/registered items) that we moved PO Box 5klms away to a really nice PO office.
