Received an email regarding a new Velocity partner, Me&u, and even better, an easy 250 Velocity points for linking my VFF account with my Me&u account:



250 VFF points. But will I get them? Maybe just some of them. Not a good start to this partnership.


There doesn't appear to be a need to specifically create a Me&u account as that happens when you register your phone number and name.

You don't use me&u anyway at places you go to? Kinda need it if you want to order at a lot of venues (using the QR code).
I've been to venues, ordered using the QR code, and didn't even know they were using me&u. The next day I saw Velocity points for my purchases, which was the only way I knew.

The thing I've found is that you don't even know it's a me&u QR code. The last one I did, I had no idea, and it didn't have any me&u branding.
Just scanned the QR code, paid, and suddenly points appeared in my Velocity.

It seems like an odd thing to me. I'm happy just to order and pay at the counter or at the table... these restaurant things seem to come and go. Remember that reservation one Qantas had for a while...

We just burned off all our Velocity points in both accounts and the business one on two domestic flights. That leaves me 513 points and partner 100 (from me&u in fact!). I don't want to fly them anymore and will credit SQ and UA to MileagePlus from now on.

So probably no point (yep - pun!) in me worrying about a few velocity points anyway!

So you really didn't have too many VFF points in total if you cleaned out 3 accounts for 2 domestic flights!

Not loads left - nope. Only had 4000 in the business account and about 8000 each in our red accounts! Scored MEL to HBA for 9900 each…

I said I would credit Singapore and United flights now to Mileageplus instead of velocity. SQ and UA are both velocity partners and also star alliance so I can credit my flights with them to MP.

There won’t be any future VA for me if I can avoid it.
