Hello All,

Long time - no post. Good to be back.

I had a review of my travel this year and found I spent 250 hours in the air, plus an extra 100+ at airport before flights in lounges. A quick look at next years bookings and i'm already up to that point without adding any work trips. Small change to many here I know, but much more than I am used to.

My question for you all is - What does everyone here do with their airport and fly time? What are some of the best things to do to maximise your time at airports and while flying? On 100 hours a year I was happy to watch moves and TV the whole time, but when i'm looking at 350-450+ it seams like too much potentially valuable down time to just throw away...

I guess it depends on the nature and purpose of your trip? Overnight flight for work/leisure - sleep as you would at home. Daytime flights it depends what you're going to do at the other end. For business trips I guess you stay awake and head to the hotel on landing to sleep as normal. For leisure flights you can sleep on the flight and be ready to head out once you land.

I don’t watch much TV or movies at home, rather do other things and spend my flying time catching up on the latest movies/TV shows. Between that and the usual eating/drinking/sleeping time goes by very quickly.

I love my job and love it even more when flying/lounging as I can focus 100% and tick many things off my to-do list. SQ21 (19 hours) was like a dream come true a few weeks ago with the internet on board and snacks/drinks every ~90 minutes.

The same. I catch up on all the films I want to watch, in the air.

I always take my laptop so also occupy myself with some light work or just mindless photo sorting etc.

Netflix downloads is your friend.

Like many here, I’ve watched everything worth watching on the Virgin IFE, so have an iPad loaded up with new and favourite movies and series.

I try to spend as little time as possible at airports and try to sleep in flight.

I don't watch TV, watch some movies and still hate delays. QF2 SIN-SYD the other day was only 7 hours long but easily felt double that time. Always easier going on holidays than returning.

Ooooh I want to do 21 sooo badly - 37 is on upcoming list but somehow I gotta to a quick weekender 22/21 just cause I should

My travel is all leisure so I try and relax, read and watch tv/films.

I like to minimise lounge time to a quick 15-20 mins for a quick bite to eat, and in-flight have the podcasts lined up - Aussie true crime highly recommended.
