Interesting move by them, the debate over suitability of such material is having an impact on what services hotels offer in the future, I wonder when others will follow, I cannot remember the last time I watched any movie in a hotel and paid for it (ICH Ambassadors get one free per visit):

ONE of the world's leading hotel groups will not provide access to adult movies in any new rooms it opens.
Marriott International said reduced revenues from providing the pay-per-view cough movies was partly responsible for the decision, with business travellers increasingly having access to their own entertainment systems, such as laptops and iPods, USA Today reported.

This is in stark contrast to the Wynn/Encore in Las Vegas, which had an extremely large collection of Adult Material to suit *every* taste (and from the list, it really was every taste, but then again, it is Vegas I suppose!).

What you watch in Vegas , stays in Vegas!

Well great publicity / marketing from Marriott ie taking the moral ground.

But who cares - what people do in private, well that's up to them. However one can easily watch cough on their laptop (via hard drive or the internet) and with a simple HDMI cable, connect it to most of the new LCD TVs anyway.Let alone, anyone can watch these stuff from their iPhone, Blackberry, Samsung Galaxy, iTouch etc it's that easy.

Actually, Marriott are taking the commercial ground - too much BYO cough - not enough sales for them.

TBH I never realized how much cough was carried around by people till everyon was up in arms over customs and immigration asking a question about it.

Not too surprising. The Marriott has extensive connections to the LDS religious organisation. I'm sure the moral high ground has been made for "commercial" reasons.

On the positive side, I might feel more comfy handling the remote at their new hotels ;) Have seen some that I really, really wonder what had happened to them!!
