Hi All,

One of my regular Hotels, the Courtyard in Parramatta Sydney is being dropped from the Marriott chain and is going to become a clarion property next week.

Sad to see it go, but its getting very tired. I wonder if Marriott will take over another property or are vacating the market?

The staff out there have been awesome over a long period of time thanks to all of you and your ever welcoming smile.

Marriott doesn't seem to have that much a presence in Australia, and though coverage is better than Starwood, the Marriott properties here tend to be rather dull and mid range at best.

I hope they expand their Edition brand to Australia. They started the brand with a bang, and the Sydney Edition was mentioned in at least one press release. But everything's now gone quiet, and only the Waikiki Edition has opened so far. I'd certainly consider putting some stays to Marriott Rewards if Edition comes here! I'm very excited about the brand as it's a partnership with my fave hotel mogul Ian Schrager, the man behind some really cool hotels like the Sanderson, which in turn inspired fab design hotel chains like W and Soho House.
