I've had a pretty busy time traveling lately, all of it on QF, so I thought that I would throw in a few comments and observations.

Since the failed takeover I have noticed a real lift in the spirits and performance of cabin crew. On every flight, cheery, attentive, helpful, hope the spirit continues.

MEL-CNS-MEL twice. Please please when are we going to see the end of the ex BA 763's, they are such dumpy old things.

CNS-SYD-MEL. Lucky to have newer international configured 763's for both legs. Always a pleasure to get the Dreamtime seat for domestic flights.

Various flights on 738's. Love this little plane but always get allocated row 1. I hate row 1 on domestic J because I can't stretch my legs out and because there are only 12 seats you often can't change. I think it's status that straight away allocates you row 1. Have asked QF to stop giving it to me...see what happens.

Skybed to HKG and back. I still love this seat, because its fun and private, even though it's not that good to sleep on;) Packing my goose down pillow makes life more comfy though and I put that lousy QF pillow under my calves to raise them a bit. When are QF going to give us a lightweight doona instead of that scratchy old blanket?

First class MEL-LAX-MEL. New lounge is cool, but as I never spend more than an hour there I really dont care that much, still would make life more pleasant if flight is delayed. On board service fine but that seat and cabin are really looking tiiiiiiirrrred:!: Apparently F is getting a mini-overhaul. New seat fabric, carpet etc. The new amenity kit is just plain silly. 3 tubes of stuff I dont want and not the 3 things i do want, toothbrush, socks and shaving kit. Several people around me agreed. The FA told me that they get this complaint on EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT :D You have to laugh at the nongs at QF HQ who decide these things.

Final comment. QF J class food is still pretty damned poor. "Insipid muck" as one travel companion put it. Neil Perry, do you really want to put your name to it? You must be getting paid a nice dollar to have your credibility shot to pieces :p

Nice to be back.

On my recent SYD-HKG the slippers, toothpaste, eye masks were packed into the pyjama bag.

He raves about the high quality food at Woolies - I think he sold out some time ago ;) (mind you his branded aioli is great)

Got the toothpaste and mask on the night leg. The slippers were too small though and had to ask for the socks.

Don't think we get this ad in Melbourne, but I am sure that you are right.

You dont mean that celebs doing ads dont actually believe what they are saying!Shock.Horror.

I'm a romantic. I like to think that people will stay true to their craft. He was a chef before he was a celeb, but sure, the lure of the $ can be mighty powerful and you have to go for it while your hot. Still how on earth can anyone be willing to put their name to that food.
