Malaysia Airlines lounges

Nasi lemak
Sure, but there is a lot more to local cuisine than Nasi Lemak and satay

Even some local sweets and desserts.
I seem to remember they may have a more local flavour in the JLounge?

Simple non noodle and rice fare:
Rojak
Apam Balik
Roti Canai
Murtabak
Yong Tau Foo
Otak Otak

For desserts:
Kuih Lapis
Pandan Cake
Agar agar
Cendol
Ice Kachang
Pisang goreng
Bahulu

None of the above are spicy.

nice pickled salad
Maybe try a Rojak

Ad hoc catering has improved since last year. In November outside the restaurant, the snack buffet had very little on offer.

ISTR the menu being more extensive when the lounge initially opened and they alos operated "First Class".

As for local desserts, you can keep 'em. (The smell of sweetened baked or deep fried pastry products in S.E. Asia I find somewhat nauseating.)

I find the desserts look far more appetising than they taste. Maybe coconut rice and that's about it.

I think the Halcyon days are well and truly

From serfty's menu, here are a couple of other items:

Overall, I thought the food, from a fairly limited menu, was very good. Much better than most J lounges.

Agree! If you have Priority Pass, try going to the Sphere Lounge at the Sama Sama hotel. Their satay was just as good as MH’s. You get a choice of 2 dishes from the menu.
