Malaysia Airlines Chef on Call seemingly unavailable

Hi All,

I am flying in J on MH 275 (KUL to BNE) on Sunday, 16 August. I understand Chef on Call should be available on this flight, but when I go to manage my booking either on my computer or through the app, I can't see any option to choose meals for this flight (not even special meals). I note I used Qantas points to book this flight, so that may be the issue.

Can anyone help me on this one?

Has it been ticketed, ie was it a recent booking?

Yes, CoC should be available.
Are you using the MH Web or app and not the Qantas app.

Thanks for the welcome and appreciate the response.

All on the MH App and their website. We’ve chosen seats etc. but can’t see any options for meals, seems odd.

I have an economy Qantas Award booking, travelling MH KUL-BKK next Tuesday and have preselected a meal using the app.

Bring up your booking and scroll down past the seat selection:

Yes that is odd
Your flight and flight class is definitely eligible for CoC and the timing is within T-30 to T-1.
I wonder if it is because it is a QF points booking?.

In any case it may be worth hitting up MH on their Fakebook site

So this is all I have available on mine, on the app and the website. Seems like an error or a QF rewards booking thing so will chat to them.

Seems like an error or a QF rewards booking thing so will chat to them.

Qf may not have any understanding of "chef on call".
I suspect they may think you want a SSR = special service request which is a dietary requirement type meals like vegetarian etc.


I think hit up MH on Fakebook might be one option if QF has no idea.
