Hi guys,

Just wondering, what would be the cost to change or cancel an international JASA.

I only have experience with domestic, where you get your points back. Does this apply to international as well? i suspect there would be a heavier penalty?

Are things any different if its purely points, or points + pay?

Thanks very much for your advice :)

It can vary ... do you have access to the rules for your booking?

(Bring it up online and look for a hotlink underlying the word "Business".)

sorry, i haven't actually booked it, as i am not sure as to what the penalty would be for a change or cancel. I guess i can always change rather than cancel.

Does it vary depending on the number of points you paid for the ticket?

It varies based on the point of departure to destination, as a starting point what is your routing?

oh ok,

I am going from bne to LAX probably via sydney, but dont have to.

Need to use points as it is only one way.

Before booking you can always access the rules in this respect.

Again, just click the link under "Business" over the top of the column with the flight option "radio button" you are selecting.

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

oh i didnt realise, i will give that a try now. thanks :)

When I've looked at Intl JASA's, they've all been a bit more restrictive than the domestic ones. I was recently booking a SYD-BKK and then HKG-SYD. I would have needed to book it as 2 JASA's and the cancelation fees were $350 each ticket (so $700 all up). I ended up booking the Classic award as it's a bit easier to cancel (and I foresee possibly cancelling this trip). Not sure what the change fees were like, but I'd assume you'd need a JASA priced at the same level for it to be anything reasonable

how much is a classic award cancellation/

Here are the rules for that routing:

I have found the "cheaper" JASA's for that route tend to book into Business.

e.g. There availability on QF15 on June 30th for 150,177 points (or 96,000+$580):
