Howdy, I posted here a while back but have yet to go anywhere, can someone tell me when going through the online award booking process, at what point am I committed to the booking? I keep trolling for dates and flights but am hesitant to hit the "make booking button " to see if award flights are available for that day.

Another question, why does the points calculator say 108 000 points for Perth/Syd/Honolulu rtn yet when I go through the booking process it comes up as 96000 points for the same ?

cheers

You are only committed to the booking once you have put in your credit card details and accept the page (after ticking the T&C box), so you can hunt around all you like until you get there.

PER-HNL return is 96000 points.
Per-SYD stop SYD- HNL return is 108000 points

As there are no direct flights from PER, you will always stop in SYD, and unless you specify the stop, you will only pay 96000 points.

Hope this helps

I seem to recall, that if you stopped for LESS than 24 hrs. in transit, it WASN'T considered a stop over, and therefore you didn't did hit for the extra points.

Absolutely correct Gordon. (welcome back)

Well, correct if it is an international itinerary. For solely domestic, you can't do an overnight stay.

Makes doing a trip around Australia a little tricky.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
