He is a similar shape to a chap who could not lower the meal tray a few years ago. That fellow had a spare seat next to him so he used the meal tray from that seat.

There is only one unallocated seat in the J cabin for QF9 in a couple of weeks. I know because I’m on it.
Either that flight is an anomaly or bookings are good.

Sure - but how many of those are pax transferred from the DXB flight, rather than new bookings directly related to the introduction of the route? Even the inaugural had pax transferred from the DXB flight and 26 empty seats.

We will be interested to read the PF review of the 787 in business class on QF9. Then there is Premium Economy to be assessed.

Not sure but I booked this flight a fair few months after it was announced and at the time I had the pick of the cabin for seating. Now there’s nothing. This is highly unusual for a flight to LHR a couple of weeks out IME

For those of us not as brave / adventurous as JessicaTam, I have found this youtube video of the entire LHR-PTH experience in real time. Yes folks, all 17:13:20 of it.

So if you want to experience it for yourself, maximise the screen and settle in.

For the Y experience, push your seat really close to the screen.

For the W experience, push your seat back 4 more inches.

For the J experience, get into bed to watch.

Please ask your partners to provide you with meals during the video.

Enjoy

I saw a familiar face around the 16 minute mark. (And no, I'm not planning to watch the whole 17 hours!)

Thanks, but I have no intention of reliving it - ever! ;)

Ok, I did look at that bit. I could just see Adam Hills being told "to the left, sir". ;)

Some people really have NOTHING better to do...initially I thought it was a condensed clip say 10-15 mins, then i realised it was not.....

Two and a half business class runs from Perth to NewYork with double status credits would get you that P1 status JohnM. Quite a price to pay to move a couple of seats closer to the toilet.

P1 for a retired person is not even on the radar, @cove. A DONEx each year to keep me WP and EF seat alerts is just fine :).
