Hi all,

just thought I would share, whilst I have been feeding off the collective hive that is AFF I have learnt much and alot of what I have learned has gone towards me finally obtaining SG. This is a first time ever at the SG/OWS level with any airline and it would not have happened without you lot. next step is to take advantage of the DSC offer and get WP but a quick question, if I do not requalify WP, do I soft land into SG, I think I do, just want to check.

Thank You All

Yes. QF has a soft land policy,
so by making WP you effectively guarantee lounge access for 24-36 months
- Remainder of this membership year as WP
- All of the following as WP
- All of the following as SG

So long as you do the 4 qualifying flights in the year!

Woah - is that confirmed? I thought if you didnt do the four flights you didnt retain status not drop to NB?

What is confirmed, I am saying soft landings are not applicable without the 4 quals.

I have not heard that as fact. In fact I have heard people doing zero flying dropping year by year through the levels.

Yeah that is my experience. A few years ago I stopped flying with Qantas, I was gold and had no flights in that FF year. Yet I was dropped to silver the next year. I took one flight with BA as Qantas silver and ended up getting an opup.

Also the thing with soft landings is that they are not in any official public policy. As opposed to Virgin who do state their soft landing policy. So Qantas good quite easily change or remove their soft landing policy, although it is unlikely

4 sector requirements have only recently been enforced, and those that have met its wrath were posting on FT, I have not known anyone personally who has been in that position in the last few years, luckily in Australia its an easy requirement.
