Ah sounds great. We are looking at maybe visiting the area next year. Not sure about driving though.

@ellen10 very easy, even though our trip was pre C, roads are good, not too much traffic, we didn't get to any of the islands, someone on here has posted tr's about it, I'll have to look.
Tartu is also worth visiting.
Vilnius is so worthwhile, any place that has a statue to Frank Zappa has to be worth visiting and of course the self declared republic of Užupis is definately a must.
We picked up a car Tallin and spent just over a week driving, distances are short.

Again, would love to go back, too many places, not enough time left!

The Tallinlink ferry is like a cruise ship. Comfortable and easy way to get from HEL to TLL.

We paid the €30 uplift for “Comfort Lounge” which is like an airport lounge (bring your roller bag with you) but the lounge takes you to your final destination.

Initially I had one car booked for two weeks, TLL to VNO (it was cheaper after 14 days, than hiring 2 or 3 cars but just managed to split into two for about the same and not have to dump the car in a carpark for a couple nights in Riga).

Current itinerary is TLL, Kuressaare (island hop), Pärnu, Tartu, Sigulda, Riga, Klaipeda, Kaunas and finish in VNO.

An American friend just did a straight line Vilnius-Riga-Tallin-Helsinki trip using Bus/Train/Ferry and he seemed to get quite a bit covered.

Thanks @Cossie and @SYD We are planning to be in Norway beforehand and we were wondering where to go after.
Never have been to those places, so thoughts are now in motion.
