Almost, but fortunately found it in time….

We are off to Frankfurt next week, one night then Zagreb the next day. I was sure I had booked accomodation at the airport, for the life of me I couldn’t find it, searched emails and credit card statements, couldn’t find anything relating to a possible booking.
Oh well, I’m getting old, must have thought I did, but hadn’t.
Prices outrageous for the Friday night, supply and demand, I guess. So booked an Accor property nearby with a shuttle, but did make it cancelable.
SWMBO mentioned a Luxury Escape booking for Maryville that we have, also part of a refund, as I had asked her to check her emails as well, normally I cc everything across to her. I thought hmmmm, brain hurts……
I checked their website and indeed there it is. I had booked Frankfurt airport as part of a refund that we had with them.
Sigh, hate getting old, but at least it is sorted, Hopefully wander out of immigration and collect bags and be in our room reasonably quickly.
MY record at Frankfort is 35 mins from plane to Hilton hotel.including immigration. Really depends on which airport hotel you are staying at

I lost my passport a few weeks ago and out of laziness and work obligations have left the passport application process for a week before my trip to Osaka to see the World Expo, figuring I could pay for expedited processing.

I now have the good luck (and even greater intelligence) of losing my citizenship certificate as well. I can't lodge my passport application without replacing the certificate first, which means not enough time before the Japan trip.

Shouldn't whinge about something I brought onto myself... on the plus side, might go to Uluru or Darwin instead, have wanted to go for years and being 'stuck' in Australia isn't that bad.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that - would be super frustrating for you. Glad to hear you can salvage a potential positive from the situation. Hope you can get the passport/certificate situation resolved without major hassle.

Travel Mistakes - expecting QF to actually deliver service in J. Recently completed a QF trans Tasman flight on the usual B737 BS business class. Once on board the CSM comes to me and tells me how good it is to have me back and if there is anything I want just ask and they will be happy to provide it. After take off (from AKL) the cabin crew stand around gossiping in the galley for about 20 minutes and then sitting because of turbulence for about 15 minutes. When they finally had to get on with the service I asked the J cabin crew member for a Chivas and ice (she obviously had no idea what a Chivas was) she replied "drinks will be served with the meal". I said so "what did the CSM mean when she said ask at any time for anything I want". The J cabin crew, very obviously annoyed, went and found the Chivas and bought me the drink. The service was as cold as my drink for the rest of my flight. If only EK still flew to AKL !!

Had a Woolies Everyday Reward offer for 2000 points for a $250 spend. Did not activate it as I did not plan to spend that much. Then, they had a sale on Bonds Undies and I bought up, plus my groceries, going over the $250 amount. Which I did not think about until after I had left the store. So that's some QFF points that went through to the keeper. I guess my lesson is to activate the offers, no matter how stupid they seem.

Didnt double check I had my phone on exiting an Uber of Friday night, turns out it had fallen out of my bag and onto the seat when I reached over to grab other bags. I realized about 40mins later. Was very lucky that for once phone wasn't on silent and the driver heard it, answered it and kindly brought back to me 20 mins later. Gave him $20 for the trouble.

He said I was lucky as he'd had 2 rides in between and any of those passengers could have grabbed it.

Just back from a lightning trip to UK in Y. Last leg of trip on QR A380. Was worried about legroom so used IB OWS to choose the front row. Only middle seats available.

Forgot that big people will pay to choose these seats. Spend 14 hours in a quiet arm-rest tussle with the 6'4 broad-shouldered bloke next to me (I am also quite broad in shoulder) who wouldn't/couldn't lean into window.

The front row just below the J stairs also has zero seat storage in front of seat

Curiously, QR seem to KWIA. First to be served and was personally asked how service went. I'm only Silver with QR (though have been Plat (VA status match) previously). Maybe they think I'm an AFF influencer 😀

A 'mistake' from this morning's sleep deprived brain.

I'm going to London and Morocco in Sept, everything booked last year. I woke up this morning to a flight change email from Air France for my CDG to RAK flight. What in the funhole, I'm not going to Paris! Paris was on the cards at some point while I was making plans, but I decided against it, so I thought I'd booked flights and forgotten about them - it's not something I've done before, but totally on brand.

Then I checked my spreadsheet, I'm travelling LHR-CDG-RAK, so it was that connecting flight that's changed. So not reeeeeeeeally a mistake, but an almost-could-have-been.
