Made any travel mistakes lately?

Recently made a whoopsie. Returned from O/S 29th May and thought I'd check my 28 Degree MC (which was replaced just prior to this trip due to fraud). Looking, looking and I see a transaction ~ AUD $720 and a couple of transaction later, a cash withdrawal fee of $21.40. I phoned GE and asked for further information regarding the transactions and they said the $21.40 relates to the ATM withdrawal of EUR 500 (AUD $720). I was adamant that I have never used the 28 Degree card for ATM withdrawals. I always use my Citibank Plus account for this. So I cancelled the card and requested fraud investigation.

Long story short (after going through my receipts) I reckon I pulled the wrong card to make the withdrawal (Paris = red wine = both cards are blue). I cancelled the fraud investigation, but they couldn't un-cancel my card, so I'm waiting for a new one to arrive (again).

I've done another one. Booked award ticket to Sofia, Bulgaria to learn how to ski or snowboard. But apparently booked it 3 weeks before the ski season starts. Whoopsies!

Can't change my leave dates, so might just wander around eastern europe to see what it's like in winter.

Pulled out my Amex QF Ultimate card instead of my QF WP card and wondered why the check-in device at PER wasn't responding - but then called the helper over :oops:.

Forgot to cancel booking at Mantra Adelaide. Could have been at Hilton now in the pool waiting for exec lounge to open.

Forgot to cancel a Novotel booking because it had dropped out of the app (hence assuming I'd cancelled it). They called the next day to see if I'd still be checking in. My "but I cancelled is months ago" (which I thought to be true) seemed to be adequate and I wasn't charged for it.

Forgot to restock medications in my travel bag after last trip. Had vague recollection of taking the last of the paracetamol so threw in another sheet of that but then forgot to do the rest of it. Looking through it just now I discovered I have no antihistamines, only one dose of ibuprofen left, and three sheets of paracetamol- I guess I wasn't all out after all. Sheer genius. I just had to take the last dose of night time cold and flu tablets when really what I need is an antihistamine. Off to find a pharmac_ tomorrow- at least I'm in the USA where the pharmacies are big, well stocked and in English!

Given the Accor IT system, I'm not surprised. They most likely thought you were right and the system made a mistake, as per usual.

You just need to find a Walmart. They have all that stuff. We always stock up when we are in the USA :D One of the first things we do is a trip to Walmart

But all the drugs have different names. Not just brand names either - ibuprofen and paracetamol both have different names if I recall correctly. Wikipedia will give you the US generic names.

Paracetamol=acetaminophen in the US
Ibuprofen is the same although many use the trade name Advil

Spoils the joke:
Why are there no aspirins in the jungle?

Because the parrots eat em all

I also got a travel reminder for another Accor hotel despite the fact I'd definitely cancelled it so I suggest you are correct.

Not booking On time .........

I als love Target pharmac_. And Walgreens! Americans do some great OTC drugs very cheaply!

I remained quiet about receiving two dud gift cards from raise.com in October this year.
Last night my credit card company officially wiped the debt and on December 11th the amount will be gone with that payment.
Raise.com immediately credited one of the two failed cards but did not respond on the second one. I will be looking for a different gift card company as I did love saving up to about 20% at restaurants and shopping.
The idea of cutting something like a $1,000 note off going to the US was very appealing.
I think I had at least 4 or 5 straight work before getting two in a row that failed.
Yes I was glad that I paid with a credit card so I could recover the loot.

Last weekend, I was so impressed by my Uber x ride that I failed to OLCI. Hence I missed my flight and a beer with Penegal. It was a v8 BMW 5 series, 2 weeks old.
