Made any travel mistakes lately?

the food I did pre-order was rubbish. Noticed a fair few people choose not to receive the second meal they prepaid. Not sure reason.
After tasting the first lot, they probably would rather starve than try to eat the second lot.

How can they make the meals so awful? I know they are a LCC but surely someone tastes the meals under flight conditions?

Also they have a policy of no outside meals on board. Is it possible to police and how can you stop people from eating? I was going to buy a large Pringles in the morning but forgot.

Im told by an AirAsia manager that the no outside meals issue is because in the usual routes that Air Asia operates include region of the world where food is often quite 'fragrant" . I can imagine the fumes overcoming many a passenger unaccustomed to it especially in a partially recirculating atmosphere of a metal tube.

Practically speaking, as long as it can't be seen, heard, or smelt by the crew, it's all fine.

With respect to airline food, I would suggest that if tastes fine if you are hungry enough. But then even at my age I can still remember basic training. Airlines - mostly I leave the white rice behind.

Happy wandering

I try to avoid rice in flight as well but hard to avoid in Asia when every meal consists of rice.

Free from Courier mail. May get some more this week from office. The difficult ones baffled me for a change. :(

It really bugs me when I can't finish an airline mag sudoku by the time the plane lands. Having said that I have caught a flight operated by the same aircraft 1 week afterafter my previous. Same seat same airline mag and was able to complete the sudoku second time around

I can generally complete the 6 Sudokus in the VA inflight magazine during a BNE/OOL-SYD flight but ocassionally get stumped by some puzzles. I do take extra copies and next time don't have any issues completing any of the puzzles. State of mind must play a big part.

Crediting NZ flights to SQ instead of VA if in PE or J. Just realised end up with more SQ points via conversion.
Will have to look closer at Y. I think I'm better off crediting to SQ for Y as VA conversion rate coupled with earn rate are less....need to read it closer.

Oh well that's what I get for not looking properly!

Guess it depends on how many drinks you've had in the lounge prior to the flight? :D

Jetstar Asia = LCC
KUL terminal 2 = KLIA2

Jetstar Asia does not fly from KLIA. I haven't been thinking clearly and almost missed flight.

Just missed monorail train and waited 10 minutes for next one. Just miss KL Expres and waited 25 minutes for next one. Got off at KLIA and went to departures and realised I was in wrong place. Back to KL Expres and wait ~10 minutes for next train to KLIA2.

Just made check-in cut off by 10 minutes and then ~5 minutes at oversize and then ~15-20 minutes through passport control but security quick this time at L gates not like the Air Asia P gates.

I was just at the KUL Low Cost Carrier terminal ~2 weeks ago. Qantas booking mentions 3K departs from KUL terminal 2. I should have been able to connect the dots but almost missed flight instead.
