If its been less than 24hours should be able to cancel Qantas ticket for free.Screwed up booking Qantas flights to Bali and forgot to use my Qantas Amex Ultimate $450 travel credit - booked directly through Qantas instead. :-(
Guess that'll teach me to make booking immediately after waking up and before the coffee kicks in!

You make LAX sound like it ranks only just slightly above Guantanamo Bay!Made 2 really...
1 was going anywhere near LAX on return from Vancouver. That airport (QF F lounge aside) is one of the great sh*tholes of aviation IMO.
The other was not realising that the daily YVR-LAX flight arrives into the 'Regional' satelite terminal, meaning a bus connection in the rain, and then because of LAX's never ending renovations a 150m walk in said rain to enter terminal 4.
The only upside was arriving from YVR not having to re-clear any TSA or re-check bags, which came with the downside of walking the creepy hallways of the T4-TBIT connector.
What can I say, other than the sanctuary and familiarity of the Aussie lounges it really doesn't do wonders for me.You make LAX sound like it ranks only just slightly above Guantanamo Bay!
OK can I suggest in that case that if you haven't already crossed them off your list of potential "Greatest Airports of the World" then probably put a line through Cairo, and Indira Gandhi in Delhi - actually you can probably put a line through a few airports in India. Dar Es Salaam is another that you might want to put a line through too unless they have improved it substantially. What can I say, other than the sanctuary and familiarity of the Aussie lounges it really doesn't do wonders for me.
We flew out of Dar in Nov 2023...it is now a big, spacious modern airport!Dar Es Salaam is another that you might want to put a line through too unless they have improved it substantially.
OK that is progress!! I was going to include CYB but I'm glad that I checked first - when I was there in the early 90's it was a grass strip and the "terminal" was four posts with a tin roof and some wooden bench seats - now it is a fully fledged international airport! We flrew out of Dar in Nov 2023...it is now a big, spacious modern airport!

I left a bit of sand in the footwell of a Hertz rental car and copped a $165 cleaning fee.
That certainly seems excessive to me.I left a bit of sand in the footwell of a Hertz rental car and copped a $165 cleaning fee.
