Got my card today, taking advantage of the $10000/50000 point offer. Will only use it for the 1:5 spends, so will be able to easily keep track of the points.....i better not have issues!!

Right I spoke to my aussie person at mac bank about the Bpay issue.
I am getting my 1300 points as goodwill....but as said before it DUE to "the BPAY that does not recognise it as a Utilities payment."
He said that it's like buying an item via BPAY and not on the credit card and therefore "the BONUS system" does not recognise the transaction as utilities, but BPAY as a general 1:1 item.
Only suggestion is to pay utilities direct via credit card(which I am concerned will incur a CC fee?)

If you do not expect problems then this is not the card for you!

I'll play by the rules, get my 50 000 points then jump ship! The whole Bpay saga is in the T + C's, a small CC surcharge (shouldn't happen with VISA in my experience) will be outweighed by the points.....Thankfully the card came today, the car has no fuel in it, the fridge is empty, and the phone bill needs paying....I'll report how it goes

I didn't get bonus points on the phone bill.

I called and asked about it, the lady i spoke to said i will get points for it. It's a telstra bill, i'll give it a try. I also have Virgin and Optus, so will report back on how they go.

First Choice is owned by Coles. Not sure who owns Dan Murpheys.
Are these classed as supermarkets?
I'll hold off the next dozen 'DOM' until answered. (In my case it will be something cheaper)

No bonus points for alcohol. I got caught out with that one as the entry on the statement just said "Woolworths"

But if you bought a gift card from coles/woolies for the applicable store then it should give you the points?

I was tempted to try that one but decided just to keep it simple. I'm sick of ringing them up.

Got my card this week. The posts in here about points not accruing properly are disturbing as I was planning on using this as my main card for the next 9 months or so. Hope I have better luck....

As an update to receiving domestic lounge passes, I called them up again Friday to find out what was going on with my query to which they replied that they would again escalate it and call me back Monday.

Received a call earlier today (Monday) and the representative apologised for the lounge pass mixup and said that they would be posting out my international lounge passes today by express post, so I should receive them tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.

As an update to this, I received Qantas international lounge passes by express post on Tuesday as promised by the rep

From what I have read in the T&C / fineprint on the 2 different offers:
- Offer 1: $5000 spend / 25000pt offer incurs NO fees in the 1st year
- Offer 2: $10000 spend / 50000pt QF offer incurs a $200 annual card fee with only the $50 QFF fee waived in the 1st year.

Your post comments relate to Offer 2, so did you get and/or expect a $200 annual card fee ?

Just to note, two reasons I am not getting this card, is we already get online Coles/Woolworth gift cards online at %5 off, which outweighs the points you get, and all the trouble people have with 5x utilities points.

Cheers

Same here !

Completely different QC passes from the ones sent out last week

At last

Who is this aussie person and how does one get in contact with them? Myself and SWMBO are sick and tired of the same story every time we call, being told they will look into it and get back but never do.

This is probably a noob question, but can you use the lounge passes when travelling with airlines other than qantas?

2 months in and my card has been hacked ! Good news is their systems detected a transfer to Western Union as suspect and declined it, then they rang and we went through the whole routine. Bad news, I have to wait for a new card and another new pin.

Called 10 days ago to find out where my QP passes were. The 60 days had well and truly passed. Was told I could expect them by the end of last week.

No great surprise, they didn't arrive. Called yesterday evening and they can see I called. No record of them actually sending the passes. Am told the issue is being escalated and they will send them out. Today, I get a call on my mobile to follow up. They call me, yet then want me to identify myself to them answering all their silly questions.

My options were to call them back (no thanks, to painful) or just give in and give them the info they want. I point out the irony of this and that if they expect me to give this information out to anyone who calls me claiming to be Macquarie, that it essentially makes their whole security system pointless.

Informed the passes will be posted. Strange, was told that 10 days ago.

Worst service ever!

I bought a $500 WISH card voucher twice in the last month from Woolworths so I could go and use it at Dan Murphy's while they have good prices on bubbly - and each time I seem to have got 5X points for the total supermarket transaction, so this is the easiest way to buy tons of extra things - don't feel limited to playing by the precise rules!

I was trying to figure out how I could buy the bubbles at the supermarket's BWS store (it was Woolworths liquor until a month ago), knowing that I would not get 5X points on that transaction, but the vouchers give you tons of scope.
