Curious to hear everyone else’s experience with Luxury Escapes…

Personally, I’ve had really positive experiences so far. Every time I’ve booked through them, I’ve ended up with a room upgrade, and the added perks have made it feel well worth the slightly higher price compared to booking direct.

For example, I stayed at Cordis in Auckland and not only got a room upgrade at check-in, i also got breakfast included at no extra cost at checkin. Normally i wouldnt be that excited for a free buffet breakfast, but the buffet at Cordis was top tier.

I also usually wait until coles or woolies have a sale on gift cards and have been able to score 10x the points.

I know some people prefer booking directly with hotels, for a lower upfront cost but for me the extra inclusions and upgrades have consistently made Luxury Escapes the better deal.

Has anyone else had similar experiences, or have yours been different?

I've had some very good deals using the Citi/MyCard discount code. The hotels that they select for their limited time deals I've stayed in have been very nice.

Only downside is their 'flexible' cancellation policy often has the refund as credit after a few days. I cancelled a hotel in Paris and got the refund in credit, rather than cash. This was on me though, as I didn't read the fine print closely enough. Something to be mindful though.
