LH's seat makeover Allegris has had a few mentions on AFF in the past day or so; I got the e-mail from the yesterday and have focussed here on the new First cabin. I'm on LH in First in May on B747-800, the present config, which I think is far from the best, so I was expecting the new config to be 'uber' good. Disappointed.

There will be 2 single suites on either side and a double, 'suite plus' in the middle, for two. This is the blub pic for the single:

I can't figure out what's going on on the right, but its made a bit clearer in the double pic. Is that a really thick sliding door on the single? Wasted space?! Likely still 'concept'.

Neither appeals to me in any way. The single has overtones of the old CX business coffin and will be more so with the door closed. Doesn't look like there will be any free leg space once the bed is deployed - unlike, say QSuites.

The double - really? The set-up is made a bit clearer in this pic from Executive Traveller:

The bench and storage options are nice (no locker, so everything under the footrest thing) but you will really want to be close to your +1 for the trip, and like to watch the same things  I don't think @OZDUCK would like it :). Again, the side-by-side Business QSuites I think would be better than this; I wonder what the cost difference would be on an equivalent journey.

So, I dunno about this. I've never been impressed with LH's hard cabin product. I've flown their Business a number of times, including that horrific A380 launch config. Otherwise 'just OK', suitable for their former cheap-ish LH 'RTW' fares. The cabin service, on the other hand has been excellent.

@codash1099 posted this link and review with this image for Business (note the better suite in the front row middle)

Looks OK, but no doors

Digressing to the J seats. Step 1. It seems like they’ve taken the UA Polaris and tried to optimise the footprint even more using German efficiency. Step 2 hand that over to marketing to spin the different variations!

Some interesting options but the rear window seats look like the pick (apart from a galley, toilet or screaming baby in whY just behind).
