Loyalty bonus SC option

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, search brought no answers.

Thanks to QF's largesse with DSCs and more J travel I am finally about to crack WP for the first time. With the recent flurry of travel that is getting me over the line, I have just received the loyalty bonus for 1000 SCs (decision re SCs vs points needed by Dec 6) and will also get the 1500 SC bonus in a couple of weeks, presumably also with a 3 month decision window.

My question is, if I delay selecting the 50 SCs until after my membership year end on Nov 30, will they be applied to the new membership year (and thus getting a 100 SC start on my uphill quest to retain WP) or are the backdated to the date of the award of the LB - obviously it would be better to take the points in this case.

I couldn't find any clear answer in the QF fine print, was wondering what people's experiences have been with this?

Great question. But given they are based on SC's earned during a particular anniversary year I reckon they'd get backdated = useless.

That's interesting and promising. Thread is 11 pages long - any idea where that might be? I can certainly use it.

Also note some problems if you have two bonuses due (pages 9-10).

The 50 SC's post and count for the "year" the benefit is activated.

So if activated 4th December they will count for the new year.

Note ISTR some issue if a second bonus is earned before an earlier one is activated - it may have been fixed.

That's my experience as well, nice way to start the new anniversary year
