Flew QF10 LHR MEL dept 16.9. The showers in the BA lounge were unserviceable and we were directed to the AA lounge to use theirs. I was far more impressed by the AA showers than those in the BA lounge. That leads me to a question: Which lounge is the best at LHR T3 (with OW Emerald status) out of the BA, AA and CX offerings?

Did you try the CX lounge? Do they have an F section there, or is it just J. Quite pathetic for all the showers in the BA lounge(s) to be broken :-|

No, I didn't go to the CX lounge, hence my query of others' opinion. A post previously indicated that the food (noodle bar) is more inviting than the BA lounge, altho' I really thought the latter was quite good. The big problem with the BA lounge is that it gets quite full in the evenings. My next visit to LHR T3 next month will be to catch QF30 which leaves midday-ish. Will try and explore if I have time. The whole spa suite was affected by a water problem, hence no showers.

PS. Found this: http://www.australianfrequentflyer....-questions/lhr-terminal-3-f-lounge-21351.html

I couldn’t have gone last I was there because I’m only QP, but the CX lounge also wasn’t open (it’s bigger now I take it). If I get back there next year I look forward to trying it out, but I guess when comparing food, if you like Asian-cuisine, the CX lounge will probably be better. I loved the food in the BA lounge.

I'm in T3 in about 2 hours if they have the steamed pork buns at CX I will definitely be there ;)

I think CX have relatively recently refurbed F and J lounges at T3 (though I have not used them).

BA J lounge is not a nice as the T5 ones (smaller, as you would expect, and consequently a little crowded, and a little older looking)

AA Flagship lounge is no better than your average QP, so don't know what the AC would be like.

BA F lounge by a large margin. After reading this thread I decided to check out CX F lounge this evening. Air - con turned up to Siberian levels.
V small and underwhelming food offering. Kind of like a colder smaller version of SYD QP, except no meat pies!
After I finish my Veuve Cliquot and kettle chips I'll be going back to the BA lounge. Cannot comment on AA flagship as it closes at 18.30 :(

Sorry to hear you couldn’t find any steamed pork buns!

Thanks Bundy Bear, great link. Answers my question. Also shows empty lounges in the morning. Just to repeat, tho', the showers in AA are really great - much bigger than even the SIN suites and they don't have those unbearable heating lights that are in the BA suites. In the latter, I end up sweating more once I've dressed after the shower than before I even started.

I am sure you aren't the first person to cook yourself from a too hot shower.

Flew out of LHR on 10 sep on QF 10. The BA lounge was packed and the waiting time for the Showers was around 30 - 40 minutes. I swear I was sweating when I left the shower - it was sooo hot in that room, almost made the shower irrelevant, but the change of clothes was worth it.

The shower and Spa's were closed (for repair/maintenance) last Friday evening. :(

If BA lounge is full try AA lounge which is usually not that full. Food is not good but at least you can have shower straight away. Just need to tell them BA lounge is full and they will let you in.

Been to both CX F and BA F lounges. BA is significantly better. I found the CX lounge to be quite disappointing. Looks like the poorer version of the CX F lounges in HK.

hi,

really?? i always have been served on the AA lounge! maybe you weren't lucky that day!
