As ADL doesn't have a J lounge, so long as you've only dropped to Gold you should still be able to get yourself and one guest into the QP.

Hi Capt. I have 2 needing guesting in BNE on 2nd Jan. I have managed to secure a complimentary pass. Are you able to guest one of us? If you are heading to CNS, we'll be on the same flight. We'll probably be at the airport around middayish. I have 6yo in tow. I wouldn't expect that you'd want to hang around us. First time I've ever tried to be guested. How do we go about it?

You have it correct, If you require spots you go into negative, but if you have free spots you go into positive. If you can get yourself in but no one else, a zero is fine to put down as you never know who you'll meet in the lounge anyway
