NRT is another airport with some huge distances in the terminal. The new UA gates to SQ gates at the other end is over 2km. One or two laps makes for a nice stretch of the legs during 2+ hour transits.

See how our modern (?) airports care for thru PAX by giving them plenty of excercise and reducing the risks of DVT etc. :p

....If you think that's bad well it's close to 2km from one end of T2 to the other (similarly T1) - try doing that when you had a 50 minute connection to start with but shortened to 20 minutes due to late inbound (and on separate tickets so not protected). Not easy lugging carryon and running (since strict gate close at departure minus 10 minutes).
Surely that is part of the thrill seeking a frequent flyer craves when booking tight connections.

Whenever I've been forced to make this marathon journey I always say to myself that they're making me do this for my own benefit :D

Nah that's purely self inflicted - helps justify the fauchon ice-cream if I get a bit of exercise in too

SQ made it up to me with an op-up :D

Well I shot an email off to QF re the attitude of the Lounge Dragon, will be interesting to hear what the result is! Checked out the QF lounge in BKK this afternoon, food options are very good again although back on JW Red rather than Black, love the Thai people, always so nice and polite, last time I was here the lounge was downstairs.

Looking forward to visiting the Wing or Pier in HKG later, its been a while, not that keen on the QF lounge, pity the smiking bar in the wing reduced its whisky range, used to enjoy the JW Gold!
