I am off to Dublin in April with my Partner flying V-Australia Economy (G). I have Velocity Gold but my partner is only Red :-(

I know I can bring a guest into the Air NZ Lounge in Sydney pre departure but can I bring a guest into Etihad's lounge in Abu Dhabi or Dublin? I cannot see it on the website and the Velocity help desk was not particularly helpful. (They did not know for sure)

All I want to do is shower and chill out in Abu Dhabi during the 3 hour stopover and then shower in Dublin before heading onwards but it would be a shame if only I can access the lounges and not my partner.

Does anybody have any ideas?

If Virgin upgrade us (I wish) upon check in do we get lounge access then?

I always fly Business or Premium Economy but this time becuse we are both going (and paying for it ourselves) it is too expensive.

Thoughts!

I seem to recall a post the other day mentioning that Velocity Gold does not entitle you to a lounge guest for partner flights.

If you are upgraded to business class then you should automatically have lounge access.

This is what makes it confusing! The call centre said yes I could have a guest in Sydney using the Air NZ lounge but did not know about the Etihad lounge.

Thanks mate. How the hell did I not see that? And more importantly, why did the call centre not know?

Anyway, it's all good, thank you for your help. Have a drink on me....
