Lounge Access with Flying Delta SYD-LAX in J

Okay, so I'll be flying Delta shortly SYD-LAX-SYD as they have a great Amex companion fare at the moment.

However, it would appear there is no lounge access in SYD ? I am Platinum with VA

I think if you are flying Delta in J the relevant conditions are the Delta J Fare conditions not your VA status. I believe Delta use the NZ lounge in Sydney for their J pax but not 100% sure.
