Lounge access questions

Hi all,

I'll be flying into SYD with JL and i want to see if i can use the domestic DJ lounges as an arrival lounge as a Plat with Virgin. I think i get access as i think they have open doors policy. I've never really tested any of this as i just fly with DJ all the time and never think about the possibility of flying with another airline haha

I will have checked luggage so i am wondering if this logistically possible but it has also been a while since i've been back in Australia so can you still pass through security without a boarding pass and can anyone see a way for me to get a shower etc in the SYD DJ domestic lounge with my checked luggage?

Thoughts and feedback appreciated.

WP should get anytime access to domestic DJ lounges.

You could only get your bag through if it can get through a security check. Use the DJ street side entrance and explain. Go through security, shower, then leave and recheck bags, then re-enter.

You will need to transfer to T2 though which will cost you via train, bus or taxi.

The checked luggage will be an issue, as evidenced in another thread where a meeting was being held in the lounge and there were issues getting some items through screening.

Yep, no problems at all. I'm in the MEL DJ lounge right now having just arrived off a Rex flight with no Virgin booking anywhere near today.

Don't need a boarding pass to get through security.
Your checked luggage - easy solution is to store it in T2 - there's a luggage storage place on the ground floor more-or-less directly below the DJ lounge - shouldn't cost much.
