Lounge access question

Hey guys, ive got a trip to Tokyo via Sydney from Melb. My Sydney to Tokyo is business and Melb to Sydney is economy. Can I still use business lounge in Melbourne? Called Qantas and they were not sure and advised ask at airport.

Reason I want to find out now is I have some lounge invitations and may use those if this not possible?

In my experience, you won't qualify for the domestic lounge in Melbourne, no. It's worth a try, however, but the systems probably won't allow it.

Invites would probably have to be used.

Yes you can use the J domestic lounge in MEL by virtue of your international J trip.

You'll need to show both BPs at MEL to confirm eligibility.

You can use the MEL T1 J lounge because you are connecting to a long haul J flight on the same day.
