Hi

I am very confused with the Qatar Al Mourjan Business Lounge access. I have booked DOH- IST Business rewards seat via Virgin Australia (Rewards seat) flying on a QR operated fight. I am receiving conflicting information weather this will allow me access or not?

When looking at a classic rewards seat directly on QR website, they do offer access as a part of their package.

PS: Hold no airlines status.

Cheers

Yes, you get regular lounge access for an award, so the Al-M business lounges.
Thank you! Plenty of confusion around that they see Business (U) as an upgraded ticket or see it's booked via another airlines and don't provide access to the Mourjan lounge.

I even reached out to Qatar support and they asked me to purchase access.

Welcome to AFF - you don't need to cross post for questions so mods might like to merge the two

I think it depends what class your flight is in whether you have lounge access

Lounge access is a fairly ‘niche’ sector of knowledge, even lounge staff get it wrong! So even less chance that call centres or support agents are going to have it 100% correct.

While it’s true that awards redeemed using points from a particular airline for travel on that same airline can come with restrictions - such as no lounge access - partner issued awards are usually (not always!) at the level above ‘basic’, so they come with baggage, lounge access and seat selection. They usually don’t come with added perks such as chauffeured cars anymore

Thank you! Let relives me lol

The only reason we booked business on such a short flight is to experience the business lounge. Otherwise, we stick to the 6h+ overnight rule.

How short is the flight? Not by any luck designated as a regional F flight? In that case you get the F lounge as well!

Welcome to AFF @abs898 . Have a look at this thread to get the best out of your DOH business lounge.

There are 2 business lounges. The newer, huge 'Garden' lounge and the original Al Mourjan near the 'Big Teddy'. The Garden may be very busy, depending on the number of flights arriving & departing. If it is, decamp to the Al Mourjan whis is probably going to be quieter but still well appointed.

If you want a shower, go to the shower point straight away, as there is usually a waiting list.
