NB (maybe silver if SC are allocated in time) flying J on QF24 ex BKK at beginning of next month. Just wondering if lounges other than QP are accessible and worthwhile visiting? Appreciate comments, thanx.

The Qantas lounge is the best lounge you can access.

Does not hurt to try out the Cathay lounge for a few minutes and the BA lounge from memory does not open until later in the evening.

Don't expect too much from the Qantas lounge but it beats the alternative. Always good to have a shower before leaving steamy Bangkok. I flew QF024 last week and spent 2 hours in the lounge. Some of the lounge furniture is looking a bit dated.

From recent reading the Bangkok lounges are (available under oneworld class of service rules)
BA Lounge (former QF/BA First) - now opens after QF evening departures
QF Lounge (former QF/BA Business) - best lounge available to OP
CX Lounge - closeby but no showers

And only available to QF elites, but not to OP
EK Lounge - further away and better champagne

I always get Charles heidsick on my QF J flights per- sin.

They advertise billiecart but they never loss it

I know this is a reply to a now old post, but isn't the BA lounge a First/Emerald lounge only that as you said only opens later in the evening, with the Qantas lounge used as a J and Sapphire which remains open for the BA flight? Or have things changed again?

The OP is flying in J with QF (and is not OWE or OWS), so is only entitled to the QF Lounge I imagine.

Yeah that was my point, as it was suggested that he go to the BA lounge. But as mentioned unless things have changed the BA lounge is first only so not an option.

Yeah, thanx for everything - I've already flown - did Q pub, I feel it has improved slightly over the last year.

Flying BKK to Syd next month and looking at the lounge page, have they reduced hours? 1.30pm - 5pm Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat. and 1.30pm to 9pm the other days?

Seeing as the QF flight doesn't leave until 6.20pm and the emirates code share later, and they are daily services, this seems strange? I think i may end up on the QF/EK code share but would have just gone to the BKK lounge of QF, but it seems this wouldnt be possible now, had heard the EK lounge is kinda stale in BKK, any thoughts?
