A colleague and I are both departing HKG within 20mins of each other going in opposite directions. Both DJ WP. He's traveling VS and I'm traveling SQ. The Velocity website states we're each entitled to lounge access with our respective carriers for ourselves and one guest upon presentation of membership card and BP. Would we be able to lounge together? If so, which is the better choice - SilverKris or Clubhouse?

I have never tried SilverKris but i must say the waffles at Clubhouse HKG are excellent !

(Wahoo- my first post :) )

Club House, without question. The staff really looks after you, the service is superb, you’ll be served one of their tasty dishes and a drink within a few minutes. Just sit there and the staff will buzz around you- Great Service!

Denied access to The Clubhouse. Struggling to know if that is in contravention of rules or not. Both were allowed access at Silver Kris.

Were you denied access in your own right, or because of your guest? I agree that either way the Clubhouse staff were wrong (according to Velocity's website, which doesn't explicitly say the guest needs a VS boarding pass - or any boarding pass at all) but it could help explain the agent's thinking.

I'm traveling SQ. My colleague (WP traveling VS) was allowed into Clubhouse but they were adamant that I, as his guest, also needed to be traveling VS to gain access and wouldn't let me in without a VS BP. Different to what the Velocity website states but what are you going to do?

EDIT: so enjoyed a quick beer together in the public area and have now gone our respective ways.

Sorry, I obviously got that the wrong way around (I thought you were flying VS, and your colleague SQ). A quick look at the Clubhouse website shows that guests of Flying Club Gold and Upper Class pax must be travelling on VS that day to enter. So that explains the agent's reasoning (although doesn't necessarily make their actions correct!). So that either means the agent doesn't know the VA guesting entitlements differ slightly, or the VA lounge access website is missing a very important piece of fine print.
