Lounge access for Silver/all on CX178?

That's the lounge that they send CX Silver to as they are not entitled to access the QF lounge, and it's the only lounge that is open at all for CX178 at 01:00

You can still go to QF as SG if you're on an earlier flight.

What's going on with that? Anyone have any answers?
Crazy how silvers get lounge access considering the only pleb benefits they get is extra luggage and priority boarding. (edit: some asian airlines have lounge access at their home base for PS "Plebian Silver" but the lounges suck)

I would not call the Pier in HKG sucks. CX silver have access traveling on CX and ANZ between AKL and HKG.

The wording of the second part is open to mis-interpretation. "... and all passengers traveling on CX178" seems to imply all passengers on that flight will have access.
I think they mean all eligible passengers. Though all eligible passengers would have access regardless of the flight number?

wow cray cray how mere PS status can get lounge access for CX. They must be desperate for revenue.
CX providing their own Silvers lounge access has been around for a long time.

CX Silver status only gives lounge access to that card holder (no guests) and only when flying CX (plus a handful of exceptions for codeshare partners).

crazy how 2-3 round trips on Y (from HK to N Amer) can get you status enough for lounge access. Plus the fact it's a standard lounge and not a watered-down version of a lounge like other Asian airlines at their home base (plus they make you fly premium Y to access the lounge if it is not located at the home base) Those lounges are not even worth stopping by other than to watch tv imho

Last month I flew CX178 MEL to HKG on a rewards economy seat and I only got access to the aforementioned lounge in MEL (The House by Aspire) presumably because my ongoing / 2nd CX leg was in business, even though it was on a separate PNR.

Other than that, if I didn't ask for it or point out my 2nd leg was in business, I probably wouldn't have received access.

The lounge was dead quiet - so I assume that it's not "all" passengers on CX178 - merely those who are eligible. Had it been all passengers on CX178, I'm sure the lounge would have been more busy.

Nice looking lounge with good tarmac views (during the day), but very limited food options - even less than the QF international lounge, and that's saying something (as the bar is quite low for the QF lounge already)!

That was my initial confusion, although @RealtimeY explained it pretty well. Just a bit bizarre.

Everyone eligible for lounge access on CX178 gets access to the house because the Qantas lounges are closed at that time (shut around 11pm).

But it appears everyone eligible for lounge access on CX any flight gets access to The House anyway, by virtue of the points above that statement (Business Class, First Class, Sapphire and Emerald). Hence the second part of the sentence seems redundant?

You can't blame them for wanting to provide more info about that late night departure, especially for passengers who may have wanted to use QF J/F, but it appears they messed up the wording a bit.
