Mrs G and little Miss G's are flying on EK 41 to AKL next Tuesday. Mrs G is QFF Gold, we can't work out whether she can access the QF lounge in SYD?

Emirates lounge counts each child as a guest, so technically she can't bring both into the EK lounge, so will be stuck if she can't access the QFF lounge - has anyone had any first hand experience of how strictly the EK staff guard the lounge?

Great, thanks for that. They will be happy campers.

Worth asking on checkin about getting into the EK lounge, I suspect a "yes no problem" will be the reply.

I read up on the QF/EK partnership blah, that SG can have access to the EK lounge, but PS have no access to any except one EK lounge, and thats the one in DXB.
So, as SG, no problems.
I like the SYD QPi lounge, better than none I guess!
Don't make the mistake of trying to enter the first one you get to, up the escalators, that one with the man or woman outside, thats the F lounge, your lounge will be the one further along.
SG get complimentary QP entry, PS get one single free entry only.
Bring along the QFF/QC Gold card, as they need to scan it on entry to the J lounge at QP SYD J lounge.

Personal experience in a number of EK lounges is you don't stand a chance if you only have the one guest spot with two kids in tow.

QF will let you all in and often is the easiest option with kids in tow.

They will be very happy with QF J lounge access, and there is a children's zone there for the little ones. Hard as it may be to believe, Mrs G once said 'I prefer it to the F lounge".

Just an update for others in a similar situation. Mrs G was told when she arrived at the airport that because her flights were award flights with EK, that they would / could not add her QFF number to her booking.

She had, however, called EK the night before flight, explained the situation and asked if she and the little ones could all access the EK lounge. "Of course" was the answer. She asked again at check in, same answer. She arrived at lounge, with 2 small children in tow at 6.00 am to be told"no way" by the attendant dragons.

They were in keeping with the rules, but that was the point of enquiring twice whether the rules could be bent a little. In the end she did get in, but it took quite a fight - only when she insisted they call the EK customer care line who had told her lounge access would be fine did they reluctantly relent - and one that she could have done without.
