Hi everyone,

Flying SYD-NAN in January, I'm on a QF codeshare flying FJ, hubby and two small ones (infant and 5 year old) flying on award tickets with FJ codes. I believe bookings have been linked by customer service.

Last time I was in the Lounge I was told that when flying on FJ - irrespective of whether on QF or FJ code - you don't get lounge access in Sydney? This seemed odd to me.

Is anyone able to confirm this? Just wondering if we can access the lounge in Sydney...I have Gold status....

I think we get lounge access in Nadi for our return flight, though I don't think we will have time. In Sydney we have a bit of time following our regional flight.

Thanks in advance!

A QF code on FJ metal has typically enabled Qantas lounge access.

I don't have the facility at the moment but this is clearly stated on the Qantas.com lounge access page.

They were absolute naz_s last time I was in NAN. I believe there are now 2 separate lounges so I'm not sure which you'd use.

I was on the midnight NAN-HNL flight which was the last of the night. 2 of us in J (WP & PS), 2 in Y. Lounge staff wouldn't allow one extra guest in so they told us "one of you will have to leave". There were only 2 other pax in the lounge at the time.... In the end we paid $50FJ to get the extra guest in but it felt a bit over the top at that time of the evening in an empty facility. My point - don't expect any leeway!

I was there in Dec, flying paid J as a QF Gold, and there was only 1 lounge I could see, unless something has changed since then?
Hopefully there is a new lounge as the one I visited whilst quiet and clean, lacked atmosphere, food and drink very poor, no wifi at least it had air conditioning.. :)

Not sure what happened to my earlier comment. Apologies if this appears twice.

I was refused access to the Sydney J lounge (I'm SG) last time I flew to Fiji (on an FJ flight number) on the basis that Fiji Air doesn't pay Qantas for access for its passengers. Seems odd given the codeshare arrangement and cross-ownership, but there you go. Had no problems getting into what passes for a J lounge in Nadi though.

I recall using the FJ lounge as a paid J pax in Oct 2012 and I clearly remember there being a wifi - maybe it is temporarily on/off. Even more than a good food/drink selection, I'd say a reliable wi-fi is sine qua non of a good airline lounge today - it is scandalous if FJ lounges do not have it anymore!

Was that on FJ as a J Pax? I am sure their website says they have an arrangement in SYD and you can use the Qantas lounge?

There have been two lounges for awhile.

I'm not going to complain if not many know about it...

Last time I went through NAN the main (original) lounge was packed. The lady at the desk said we could use the new area - we had it to ourselves until people spotted us grabbing F&B and followed us back in :)

I have not noticed the second lounge in Nadi but was aware that there was one.
I have usually used the one straight ahead and to left left of the Air NZ lounge, then again my sense of direction is bad - but not as bad as my memory or lack of :)

Our (Self & 2 kids) last trip in April and departing Sydney had us booked as QF flight number.
When checking in the boarding pass printed with FJ and I spotted this immediately.
I mentioned this as was aware if FJ code on boarding pass then no lounge access but the lady said it was OK my details (Status ?) were on the booking and if any problems for the lounge to ring down to her.
Got to the lounge and no issue.
All you can do is ask and hopefully they will allow entry.

On the return from Nadi they were strict on the entry and rather than leave one of the two daughters outside I had both wait upstairs while I tried to get WiFi access unsuccessfully in the lounge.
