I'm heading to GRU in August and my routing is MEL-SYD-EZE-GRU and back. QF J to EZE and I'm on a JJ operated LA coded flight EZE-GRU.

I suspect my lounge access at EZE, on the outbound journey, is going to be limited. As my next flight is not operated by a OW airline, even thought it has an LA flight number, I won't be able to get access to the AA club. I have not heard good things about the AMEX lounge used by JJ, so is my best bet Priority Pass and the United Red Carpet Lounge? I have a couple of hours to kill.

On a second note will I pick up QF SC's and points as the flight has an LA flight number?

Many thanks in advance. :)

I went through EZE a couple of times in 2009. The AA lounge is not great. I spent about 5 minutes in there just to check it out but then quickly moved over to the AMEX lounge. I am a Centurion member so I was able to use the Centurion lounge which is to the right as you enter the AMEX lounge so I didn’t get a good look at the Platinum lounge. But I can vouch for the Centurion lounge. While it didn’t have showers or a massive range of food, it did have a private butler service. :)

I doubt you'll get any point or SC's for your JJ flights.

I thought that might be the case. :( The good news is that the QF17 and QF18 are sold as three class and are using a four class aircraft! :)

+1 to the AA lounge being not great (although clean, and relatively quiet for the most part when we were there). The lounge AAngels were kind enough to let us in for nix even though only QP at the time (and on LA to SCL).

No such luxury afforded to us in SCL, despite being on the QF codeshare of the LA service SCL-AKL.

I have been the AA lounge before and like you say it is OK...but that is all. I do have a 7 hour lay over there on the way back so I'll get to know it better that I would have wanted!!!!!
