I have a question regarding our eligibility of lounge access at Auckland/Christchurch domestic airport, and hope someone can give me a quick answer.

We are travelling TG business class BKK-AKL and then connecting AKL-ZQN X class in economy(since Air NZ does not have business class seats in domestic flights). Similarly, we then have X(economy) class CHC-AKL and then connecting business class AKL-SYD. All 4 legs are on the same one ticket/itinerary.

The ticket is a Star Alliance business redemption through UA.

My question is, when we arrive Auckland domestic, are we eligible to enter the Air NZ lounge? Is the eligibility based on the entire ticket(Star Alliance Business Award) or based on the class of travel for the next flight(economy, even though it is a forced downgrade due to NZ not offering economy class product for domestic flights)?

Similarly, in Christchurch, are we eligible to enter AIr NZ domestic lounge before our flight CHC-AKL as our connecting international flight(AKL-SYD) is business class?

Love to hear from someone with knowledge of Star Alliance policies regarding this.

*A policy is lounge access is only based on the flight departing from that airport (so no access at AKL on the way to ZQN or at CHC on the way to AKL). In practice, you may get access at both airports if you show the international business class boarding pass, since it is same day (I assume) and on *A (and recognising there is no business class on NZ domestic). There is probably a better chance at CHC since your subsequent business class flight is on NZ. If the international flights aren't connections (i.e. there is more than 24 hours at AKL) then no access.

Thanks Kiwi_Flyer. I'll try(but not holding much hope) at Auckland domestic then. But the problem with the CHC lounge access is that the CHC-AKL leg is a night flight, then overnight in Auckland airport hotel, then AKL-SYD afternoon the next day, so I may not get the business class boarding pass of the AKL-SYD flight to show at the CHC lounge.
