I went searching for a thread for English signs or notices that had obviously been poorly translated from the original language, however couldn't find one. I am sure AFFers must have seen loads.

I picked up a discarded express pass for Air China when I was in MEL recently and this gem was one of the tips for getting through security quickly:

"Please check your pockets for fetal items". :confused:

F and M are not even close on the keyboard to say that it is a typo.
Indeed; I think it must have been a translation of fetal (foetal) that meant something like inside, hidden or covered. I am still scratching my head over that one.

And given the Chinese propensity for our iron ore, I doubt that 'metal' would be misspelled.
