Lost Credit Card

    I lost my Citibank Credit a couple of months ago. Had it cancelled and replaced. No problems.

    Citibank sent me a statement the other day for the new credit card (which has a new number). The statement included a charge for the annual fee. I already paid this fee only a couple of months ago for the credit card I lost.

    Do I really need to pay the annual fee again just because I had the card replaced?

    Sounds to me like a CitiBank stuffup.

    If the fee and description is the same as the annual fee you just paid, then phone up and complain. It makes no logical sense to charge a yearly fee on a replacement card.

    Are you sure it's not a replacement fee in disguise?

    It looks like an error. I had my Platinum card replaced within a couple of days and no fees charged to replace.
    Call them now!
