Can anyone tell me whether Qantas still has Classic Flight Rewards for Lord Howe Island flights ex Sydney? Used to be 16,000 points return. Did some searching but can only bring up the 81,000 points one way, I am a little confused and would appreciate any advice. Understand that any award availability would be limited. Thank you in anticipation.

It is very difficult now to book classic awards to Ldh...you used to be able to get a few awards by booking at T -353 days but now seats are seemingly only released at the last minute eg 2 weeks out. This makes it difficult if you have other committments eg work and also last minute accomodation is difficult to come by and not cheap.

I do agree with it only being available at short notice, although I can imagine WP & P1 being able to successfully request seats half a dozen months away from travel.

Right now I can see Sydney to Lord Howe tomorrow June 12, returning June 19 for 16,000pts and $172~ taxes.

I must be missing something, I cannot find any indication of Classic Flight Rewards on any of the search pages, have followed all the instructions, only gives a choice of cash or points, no mention of Classic Rewards. Am logged into my QF account

Qantas is this week making every available seat between SYD and LDH available as a Classic Flight Reward seat, for travel from 15 July to 31 August 2020.

This is low season, but still, I'm very impressed to see this:

Typical Qf....pretending to be generous but not....winter is probably the worst time to go to LDH weather wise...you can't swim, kayaki, snorkel, swim with the fish at Ned's etc. (I guess you can in a wetsuit!) I have been twice in Feb, and that was fantastic.

Typical QF bash.

I pity the traveler who isn’t prepared to try things off season.

I reckon it's about 9 to 10 degrees warmer than Melbourne in July so the both of us are off to LDH.:)

Been trying for a long time to find 2 rewards seats so this promo was perfect for us.

Swimming - no, bushwalking - yes!
Total cost 48K points plus $471 tax MEL-SYD-LDH & return  (although traveling in Y will be a shock to the system )
