I had booked a flight from Bali to Melbourne for this coming May. When doing so, remembering that the purchased meals are not that big, I ordered two meals each for my wife and me, each meal with a coffee.

Then one day, a $30 Jetstar voucher showed up in my email, following my Club Jetstar renewal. But the only thing I could use the voucher on within the next six months, was on meals during that flight.

So, my wife and I will each be receiving the three meals we've ordered - with three coffees each as well. Might be interesting to see how we fit all this food and coffees on our trays.
Regards,
Renato

I'd be interested to know if the Jetstar system allows 3 meals per passenger to be purchased?

And how it gets loaded so that the crew will know it?

And how the meals get served if they only have one hot meal service on the flight? Will you get the 3 meals all at once? I'd image the 3 coffees could come at any time.

We pre ordered meals and the cabin crew had no idea who it belonged to and walked straight past us. We had to call her back.

But in any case one Jetstar meal is one meal too many.

On our last SIN-MEL trip on Jetstar, withbundle, we simply opted for the $15 F&B voucher rather than the meal that comes with the bundle. We took some snacks from home/J lounge to take on board, and used the vouchers to get a sharing platter of 2 wines, olives, salami sticks, cheese/biscuits, which was enjoyable enough.

I had an inflight F&B voucher once but found nothing on the menu appealing so I quietly offered to pay for my seat neighbour when he ordered and the cabin crew said aloud to him "the gentleman next to you just shouted you"...

The booking system allows you to buy as many meals as you like each - but it doesn't allow duplicate meals for each passenger, as best as I can tell. Else I would have bought three pie and sausage roll meals for myself, as I love the NZ Dad's Pies brand on Jetstar.

I know that they do keep spare hot meals on the flight for people ordering on the plane, when they smell other people's food. So it shouldn't really be a problem for them to space our three meals each out. But then again, they may just bring all the meals. Also, I noticed last time that they have a record on their tablet of what each passenger has ordered.

I wonder how many fellow passengers will get annoyed with smelling our food diversity?

I guess my wife and I have Plebian tastes.

Last time we flew Jetstar, we both enjoyed the meals that we bought in Economy more than the exotic ones we were given in Business.
The meat pie and sausage roll meal was so good, that I bought two more of them (at 10% off with my Jetstar Mastercard).

Renato

That was most generous of you. Wish I had been sitting near you.
Cheers,

I've used vouchers to buy soft toys (Jetstar does a 'bunyip') for the dogs.

Thanks.
I can't honestly say I saw the bunyip anywhere when I was trying to spend the voucher in the Amend Booking section, but I doubt I would have gone for it, unless my wife wanted it.
Cheers,
Renato

Nah, I enjoy baked beans on toast as much as anyone but it’s the meal we had once on a flight from Bali to Singapore on J that’s put me off them forever.

Good for children/grandchildren.

I must admit that I had never associated Jetstar with serving exotic meals.;)

But now you have spiked my interest.

They were weird healthy-type, partly Asian type meals in Business.
I remember my wife hated the entree, and I didn't mind it, while I hated the main meal and my wife didn't mind hers.

UPDATE: We got on the plane today at Bali, and when the meals were about to be served the steward asked if we wanted all three meals served at once or spaced out. We had them somewhat spaced out.

Since I'd paid for six coffees, I offered the chap sitting next to me one, and the chap across the aisle one - which they gratefully accepted.

I ate the butter chicken meal, pie and sausage roll, and toasted sandwich and eventually ate my wife's butter chicken. Much better meal than I'd had when I previously flew Business with them a year ago.

My wife could only get through the pie and sausage roll and half the toasted sandwich, the other half of which was accepted by the chap sitting next to me ( as I couldn't get through that half by that stage).

And my wife and I had two coffees each. And we both agreed that it was better coffee than most of the ones we'd bought in Tokyo two weeks earlier.

Renato
