You could try Rules at Covent Garden for the Olde World vibe, and I have always found the food very good.

Really enjoyed 10 Greek Street in Soho. Nothing fancy about it. Good food, good service and cool wines. Ask for the little black book of wines. Constantly changes and usually only a bottle or two of each wine in it.

City Social in London. Michelin starred. The chocolate soufflé was amazing! (the whole meal was, but the dessert was particularly memorable).

The Karahi Lamb Chops at Tayyabs in Whitechapel are probably the only food I still find myself yearning for almost ten years after leaving London.

We just got back and loved Dishoom. Also having a cream/high tea at the Ivy was lovely.

Noble Rot was a 10/10 meal back in July.

Other favourites are ROVI; Honey & Co / Honey & Smoke; The Coal Office; Duck Soup; Trishna; Chiltern Firehouse as starters.
