CAN THEY DO THIS???
On 5th July I excitedly booked seats on AC34 Sydney-Vancouver Direct 22/12, with an onward connection to Toronto two hous later. I was very happy about avoiding the need for; US Customs, a seemless quick connection through to Toronto, a new aircraft with AVOD and sticking to *Alliance to earn my points. We return a month later with a similar two hour wait in Vancouver.
All was going well until I logged onto Aeroplan to check things when I discovered that they have taken me off the outbound flights!
AC34 was originally scheduled to depart SYD at around 1150am but has changed to 1330. This subsequently means that we would miss our connecting flight from Vancouver to Toronto (AC130) which leaves at 9am.
Air Canada in their wisdom have put us onto UA flights through LAX then AC onto Toronto! We are very upset about this as if we had have know this we would have not booked with AC! I can't understand why they didn't just leave us on AC34 that actually goes all the way through to Toronto after a 2 hour stop in Vancouver, or at least connected us in Vancouver with a later Vancouver-Toronto flight?
We have been completely re-routed!
Can I do anything about this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
(EG; Approaching the airline, complaining to get it changed etc)
